Position: Accountant

 Reports to: Financial Manager

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to provide provide support to the finance department by managing
daily accounting tasks. The successful candidate will be part of a team of professionals working
to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The accountant will be involved in
the preparation of financial statements and reporting. The ideal candidate will be
well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to
detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department
and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right
decisions and accomplish long term success.

Key Accountabilities and core activities:
• Responsible for full general ledger from transaction to trial balance, including:
▪ Review of debtors, creditors and stock ledgers
▪ Fixed asset register maintenance
▪ Bank account reconciliation
▪ Provision calculations and adjustments
▪ Balance sheet reconciliation
• Data analytics
• Implement and enhance effective controls in the organisation
• High level of involvement with the operations team
• Engage with various stakeholders, including shareholders, banking partners, suppliers,
customers, operations and sales team members
• Preparation of various monthly and ad hoc reports
